Finch...party of four!!!
Thats right! We are expecting. We are so excited! I am about 11 weeks along. So that puts my due date around the 26th of July.(Right in the middle of summer. Yepeee!) When we talk to Brooklee about it she refers to the baby as "my baby brother" so we are thinking it might be a boy. I would really like another girl, but as long as its healthy, thats all that matters. We are really excited about this baby since the heck I went through with the last pregnancy.
XmAs 2008
Christmas Eve and Christmas morning was spent in Eagar with Mom, Dad and Ammon. We didn't let Brooklee have a nap all day in hopes she would pass out early so Santa could visit. (If you know what I mean. There is a card game my bro in law Ammon taught us a little less than a year ago and ever since then I have not been able to beat him. Every game I loose, I get madder and madder and madder. I just want to whip that kid so bad at that game. Well, Christmas came a little early for me because that night... I BEAT HIM. He blames it on Nic making him laugh so hard and for it being so late but he doesn't want to admit he lost to a girl. Better yet his sister in law. HA HA HA. When we woke up Christmas morning Nic started to cook breakfast. It was quite delicious I shall say. Then, we waited for Papa Brad to come home from work to start the festivities. Brooklee had a blast opening her presents. Mom F. made us and Aaron and Jane a wedding album. I have never sat down and actually started a scrapbook from our wedding and I am so grateful the time and thought she put into this for us. Dad F. supplied "his girls" Brooklee and Nellie with some really pretty jewelry....pearl necklace and pearl bracelet. Brooklee loves it so much and insists on wearing it to church. Thanks Dad.
After opening up presents in Eagar, we skipped off the Lakeside to spend the rest of the day and that night with my mom and dad. It was our first Christmas without Danny. My mind was on him all day. I kept thinking about what he was doing, did he get our package, is he okay, is he homesick, is he happy? I know he was just fine in the MTC and he was surrounded by elders who were away from their families too so they probably helped each other get through it but my mind still raced. I can't wait for two more Christmases when he will be home again. Its just not the same. Nic and I have been looking at getting a food dehydrator before the summer. Well my mom and dad must have known because they got us one. I can't wait to start using it. Thanks! Growing up the presents under the tree used to be filled with To: Shelly Love: Santa. Well... this sure has changed. Now ALL of the presents under the tree read To: Brooklee Love: Santa. This is one thing that stinks when you get older!!!
(These pictures are not in order. Sorry!)

My dad will always be a garbage man at heart. He worked for the Town of Gilbert for many many moons in their Refuse Dept. He loved his job and would go back to driving garbage trucks in a second I think. My mom got him this Tonka Recycling truck to play with. (Brooklee plays with it more than he does!)

We made Ammon a sign for his room. His hero is Capt Moroni so we put that in the back ground and on the top of it reads "Raise your Title of Liberty" Nic thought it would be a perfect gift for him.

Mom F. and Aaron opening up their 72 hour emergency kits we prepared for them this Christmas. We did one for my parents too. Never know when you are going to need it. Right?

Brooklee opening her stocking that Santa left at G & G Finch's house.
Every year my mom gives us new pj's on Christmas Eve. This is the one thing I look forward to the most each year. I am so grateful for the tradition she established. Thanks Mom!!
Grandma Finch made the grandkids a little tee pee from scratch. Once again...she amazes us. Nic said growing up they had one just like it and they loved it. Brooklee plays in this thing for hours some days.
I got Nic a 2008 College Football Encyclopedia this year for Christmas. It didn't take him long to bust this book out and start reading.

Aaron and Jane got Nic the perfect gift. She made Nic a USC Trojans blanket with two pillows. The amazing thing is she sewed it all Xmas eve. Amazing!!!! He loves it guys. Thanks Jane!!

One of a Kind Christmas Dress
I am so blessed to have a second mom who is an amazing seamstress. The past couple of Christmases Grandma Finch has given Brooklee something that I can't. A HOMEMADE CHRISTMAS DRESS. She always seems to amaze us with her talent. Brooklee loves hers so much and tells everyone just who made it for her. I am grateful for her and the time she spends in designing such a treasure for Brooklee to have. Thanks Mom for your love you show to us. We love you.
Family Home Evening

For the past couple of years Mom and Dad Finch have gotten us all together right before Christmas to have Family Home Evening. This year was very special. Mom and Dad got the movie "The Ultimate Gift" and gave us the opportunity without any distractions (four small children whose names I won't be giving but you all know who they are) to watch the movie. I won't ruin it for those who haven't seen it but I will say its a movie EVERYONE needs to see. Mom gets the kids ready to do a little Nativity play. Brooklee was Mary, Brodey was Joseph, Nellie was the Angel and Jax was the shepard or a little boy with a cane who was going to beat somebody with it. It turned out perfect. Mom and Dad gave us each of our families a goal to work on the items that were discussed in the movie for each of the months this year. I am grateful for their love they have for each one of us and for the examples they are to Nic and I. Thank you Mom and Dad for the good times we have shared and for all you do for our little family. We sure 'preciate ya!
Temple Lights

The weekend before Christmas we took Brooklee down to see the temple lights and to finish up on some last minute shopping. Nic and I are making it a family tradition to take her down there every year to enjoy the lights. She told me her favorite is "all os them" She can't say her f's so they sound like s's. When we got to the temple it was still daylight so you couldn't see the lights too well but by the time we left, they were all just shining so brightly. We also spent the weekend with Aunt Annie, Uncle Brent and the kids. Its always a blast when we get together. Every year Uncle Brent plays Santa for office, ward and family parties. So, when he came home from one of the parties, he suprised Brook with a little visit. She didn't take it so well. Sorry Uncle Brent, but thanks for trying.
From Blue Jeans to Suit Pants
I know I am really past due on posting but I finally have a bit of time to sit down and get caught up. On December 10th my little brother Danny entered the MTC. My mom, my dad and myself were able to take him up to Utah. The journey up there will be one I will never forget. The laughs, the cries, the dinners (wow...one in particular was very expensive. But hey it was Danny's trip. Who can tell him no!!) Taking him up there was a bitter sweet moment. I kept thinking we were on a little family vacation. But then the thought of what we had to do on that Wednesday morning just overtook me. Watching him get ready that morning before he went in was truly a cherished moment for me. My little brother was all grown up. He put his blue jeans aside to change into suit pants so he could go serve the Lord.
Side note: Elder Keith left the MTC on December 29th to fly out to New Hampshire. My mom and dad got a call from him that morning while he had a lay over in Detroit. They said he sounded really good and was excited to get there. He didn't like the MTC very much especially the food.

Called to Serve Him

This picture is probably the most popular because there were several missionaries lining up to stand next to this for pictures.

The gentleman wearing the blue hat is just one of the few that helped Danny get to where he needed to be. They were the nicest guys. They definetly knew how to secure the luggage so it wouldn't come apart. They must do that alot!!

This was the first time I have seen the Salt Lake Temple in person. One word...breathtaking.
